An Insight About The Stork Meditator
A stork is a bird of great patience. He stands in the lake waters full of reeds on one leg so the fish do not come to know about his presence by seeing both legs. He always remains focused on the aim. Due to his nonchalance, he is known as the Stork Meditator.
There is a story behind this from Dr SS Malik's childhood and also a philosophy. His mother called him a Stork Meditator or Bagula Bhagat because he remained focused on his motives and was not easily convinced. The philosophy behind this is that we may play, have fun, indulge in our desires, and face challenges, but we should not lose sight of our aim.
Our aim is only one 'Purushartha' meaning the evolution of our consciousness. Our consciousness is our interpretative, learning and understanding ability which belongs to our soul. The second aspect of the Stork Meditator is that we must start preparing a lifestyle even if we are not really there. This is a way of expressing our intention to the Universe and by doing this we will start manifesting our future.
About
Dr Satinder Singh Malik
Dr Satinder Singh Malik is a rare confluence of sky and soul, a former fighter pilot, a seasoned adventurer, a philosopher, and a researcher into the deepest mysteries of consciousness.
Commissioned into the Indian Air Force in 1997, Dr Malik flew state-of-the-art Su-30 MKI fighters, mastering the discipline, precision, and courage that define those who operate at the edge of human capability. Yet his journey did not stop at the stratosphere. A keen skydiver, river rafter, and mountaineer, he has summited peaks including Mt Stok Kangri, Mt Elbrus, and Mt Kilimanjaro and was part of a mountaineering expedition to Antarctica. He has also made the sacred pilgrimage to Mt Kailash and Mansarovar Lake in Tibet. He served as director of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation and director of the Air Force Directorate of Adventure.
Parallel to this life of outer adventure runs an equally profound inner journey. Guided by his Gurus — Pilot Babaji and Mahavatar Babaji — Dr Malik's deep immersion in philosophy, yoga, and contemplative practice has gifted him with rare insight and what the traditions call ‘direct perception’. His work bridges the rigorous logic of science with the luminous depths of Eastern philosophy, charting territory where few thinkers dare to venture.
Dr Malik focuses on 'knowing' rather than faith and belief, following the path of Purushartha – the evolution of consciousness through Dharma, Artha, Kama, and ultimately Moksha. His research into the nature of consciousness and the cosmos has been published in respected peer-reviewed journals, including the Scientific God Journal and the Journal of Consciousness Exploration & Research (JCER).
He is currently serving in an airline as a captain and continuing his passions for writing, researching, music, adventures and physical fitness.
