The Cosmos has been compared to a being with Intelligence. Brahma Sutras give details on how the cosmic mind is another function of Brahman (Space). The life-centric places in the cosmos have been protected as life is to evolve the consciousness and needs to be nurtured. To achieve this certain star systems and planets have been endowed with consciousness. The thirty-three gods or Tridasha (त्रिदश) are gods of Vedic origin as 12 Adityas, 11 Rudras, 8 Vasus, and 2 Ashvins in the Brahmanas. The Viswadevas विश्वदेव refers to the various deities featured in the Vedas. Gaṇas are a group of deities attached to Lord Śiva. Gaṇas are troops who generally appear in classes. Nine such classes are mentioned in the Purāṇas: They are (1) Ādityas (2) Viśvas or Viśvedevas are the ten sons of Viśvā and Dharma: these are childless gods: wait on Indra; worshipped for the gain of a kingdom (3) Vasus (4) Tuṣitas (5) Ābhāsvaras (6) Anilas (7) Mahārājikas (8) Sādhyas (9) Rudras. These are attached to Lord Śiva and serve under the command of Gaṇeśa, dwelling on Gaṇaparvata identified with Kailāsa mountain. Various Gods and Asuras and other beings have a conscious life in subtle form and physical life on some other planetary system and responsibility depending on one's capability and merit.
This arrangement has two major explanations of the traditional belief system. The intelligence of these gods is endowed in a system to maintain the automation level and order of the world. These govern various planets and forces and systems on Earth. The rivers are also endowed with such divine intelligence in the form of Devis.
The impact of the placement of various planets in our solar system on the birth of a person the particular location of the moon, sun, w.r.t one of the 12 zodiac signs determines the Sun or Moon sign. All the planets have unique influences in astrology and each planet represents an aspect of personality. They represent Prabadh Karma. Offering prayers, salutations and oblations and chanting of mantras to various gods is possible, firstly if the thought communication happens and secondly, if these heavenly bodies are intelligent. Some of these are used as the remedy for planetary afflictions. Unless they are conscious and intelligent, they would not receive or hear such prayers. The prayers and thoughts connect to the cosmic mind directly from the human mind. Such communications are instant as they are like quantum communication. This is the science of astrology, Hora or Falit Jyotish.
