Physical, Psychological and Celestial Pains
Physical, Psychological and Celestial Pains

After understanding Tattva Gyan (knowledge of elements and this environment), Aatm Gyan (knowledge of the self), and Braham Gyan (knowledge of the consciousness and Cosmos), an individual can destroy the three pains. This translates into an understanding of reality in and around us.

Due to the attack of three types of sorrows, there is curiosity about the cause of their destruction. The three types of sorrows are spiritual, physical, and celestial (supernatural).

1. Spiritual - The sorrow which is related to the soul. Mind is a part of the soul, hence the sorrow arising due to mental anguish, such as anger, greed, attachment, fear jealousy etc. is called spiritual or psychological. Similarly, the pain caused by the non-obtainability of any desired object falls in the category of spiritual sorrow.

2. Physical - The sorrow arising due to external causes or objects which we can see is called physical. For example, the sorrow or suffering arising due to any animal, bird, snake, human etc. The gross body is a physical body and the physical pain which is caused due to the imbalance of the main elements of the body, viz. Vata, Pitta and Kapha is called physical pain. For example, fever etc. It is also of two types- (a) Natural (hunger, cold etc.) and (b) Tridoshajanya (fever etc.)

3. Celestial- The pain caused by the ill effects of invisible divine beings like Yaksha, Rakshasa, Kinnar, Graha etc. is called celestial or supernatural. Auric attachments, unforeseen and sudden problems in important events, obstructions due to celestial plans etc.

Celestial plans lie at the root of our existence. Whatever challenges, plans, and learnings are required, they shape destiny. Therefore, serendipity, good luck, or fortune are a reflection of this aspect. Since they affect the thought process directly, they may also affect the psychological well-being, which in turn affects the physical well-being.  Physical pains can be a direct or indirect result of environmental, psychological, and celestial pains.
